Course Overview

The program provides a thorough grounding in the ideas and practices of the Narrative approach to working in the community. The program is conducted in Hindi and provides a supportive learning environment, enhanced by weekly supervision meetings with a focus on skill development in between teaching blocks. Ummeed’s training team collaborates with organizations across India and neighboring countries to conduct the Community Mental Health Training Program.

Goals

A thorough exploration of the Narrative metaphor and its application in practice, including the background ideas and guiding principles of Narrative therapy
Skills development of the micro-maps of narrative practice as it relates to work in a variety of contexts and settings
Practice-based collaborative learning including reviewing stories of therapeutic conversations, transcripts and interviews
