Who can apply: Parents of children with neuro-motor difficulties
This workshop, spanned over two half days on consecutive weekends for parents with children with neuro motor difficulties who are dependent on them for all the self-care activities, aims at improving not only child’s health but also the parental physical health and well-being. It focuses on the ergonomical factors for the parents that when considered will be helpful in the long run. It also aims at creating a support group run by and for the parents in future and this workshop being a small step in this journey. It includes collaboration with families and mutual learning through the interactive sessions focusing on understanding the general strategies of carrying and positioning that could be incorporated during feeding, dressing and grooming based on their child’s strengths and difficulties. The practical sessions with the professionals are targeted towards individualizing the strategies for the participating families.
