Every Story Counts, December 2022

Ummeed went live on 3rd December with its campaign on International Day of Persons with Disabilities - #EveryStoryCounts, a festival of self-advocacy all through December by young people with disabilities and their families.

Each video featured a self-advocate sharing an important message in their first-person voice about their life journey interspersed with their archival footage and pictures. The self-advocate also picked a popular song that represents who they are.

#EveryStoryCounts was an open space for stories from people with disabilities and also a call to recognize the importance of storytelling from diverse communities and the crucial impetus it provides for the inclusive development of the world.

Ummeed Child Development was supporting the UN’s theme for International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2022 - “Transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in fuelling an accessible and equitable world”.
