Walk for
Ummeed

We love it when our supporters visit us and see the work for themselves. We request you to schedule a visit and we are happy to organize it! Since our kids come to the Center for therapies, it is important that we don’t disturb their schedule and at the same time, manage to give you a wholesome experience of Ummeed’s work.

I wanted to encourage my kids to learn the value of empathy, of supporting those less fortunate than themselves and giving back. I reached out to Ummeed to organize a ‘donate-a-gift’ for my kids’ birthdays – a request for donation to Ummeed instead of a gift for themselves. The more I become aware of the work they do with children with developmental disabilities (one of their many programs), the more impressed I am. I hope this small link will go a long way in teaching my girls lifelong lessons which will help them grow into generous, loving and empathetic human beings.

Ummeed has been a huge support during the developmental years of our son, with timely guidance and counseling. As one way of giving back to Ummeed, I joined the fundraising Walk a few years ago and later became a volunteer for it.

The Walk itself is a fantastic experience, not only for its uniqueness (55Km on the beaches of Goa) but also for the community building that happens naturally during the Walk. I hope more people join to support Ummeed's cause.

No contribution is too small or too big. Developmental disabilities impact 1 in every 8 children and when you convert that figure into actuals, the number is too large and problem too stark. Therefore, your contribution will always be appreciated and much needed.
