External Co-ordination
The team networks and collaborates with other organizations and stakeholders to provide access to resources taking into consideration the community where the family resides. This includes creating a directory of resources of pediatric therapy centers, special and inclusive schools, hospitals, government bodies working in the areas of children with disabilities, and sharing these resources with the caregivers. The team provides support through a holistic approach by doing need based home visits and supporting caregivers in making a disability certificate, navigating the assessment process at hospitals and understanding its benefits.
Sensitization Workshops and Support Groups for Caregivers of Children
with Disabilities:
As an extension of the family-centered care approach, the team also facilitates support groups for parents as well as several rights-based sensitization workshops aimed at empowering caregivers and professionals with information regarding rights and provisions for their children. These workshops are primarily conducted in collaboration with the Family Resource Center at Ummeed.

We believe that the ability to pay shouldn’t come in the way of receiving the best services for children, hence, the fee for Ummeed’s services operate on a sliding scale depending on the individual financial situation of every family.
