Who can apply : Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech Therapists, Special Educators, Counsellors, Psychologists who are currently providing therapy to children with Autism.
ECHO Therapy for children with Autism is a tele-mentoring program using the online platform of ECHO, meant to be a support for professionals providing therapy for children with Autism to enhance their existing clinical skills in Autism Intervention. The program gives on overview of Autism Therapy assessment, goal setting and evidence-based approaches for areas of difficulties.
The program uses case-based discussion model along with didactic teaching, done over eight sessions.
Objectives:
Key principles of various Autism Intervention models
Developing participation-based goals and intervention plans
Addressing common challenges in Autism – Attention, Communication, Behaviours and Sensory Issues
Challenges in school setting
Working with older children
During the program, the participants are encouraged to share a case they are currently working on which is discussed during the session, and additional case recommendations also shared post the sessions.
