Course Overview

Narrative ideas & Practices is a respectful, non-blaming approach to counselling & community work that is relevant in the Indian context. Some of the key ideas include viewing the problem as separate from the person, using people’s knowledge and skills in reducing the influence of problems and creating an identity that fits better with their hopes, dreams & values.

This Program will be conducted in Hindi and is structured into monthly teaching blocks of 3 days each & will include experiential and practice based exercises to teach the concepts as well as supervision, with a focus on skill development.

Goals

A thorough exploration of the Narrative metaphor and its application in practice, including the background ideas and guiding principles of Narrative therapy
Skills development of the micro-maps of narrative practice as it relates to work in a variety of contexts and settings
Practice-based collaborative learning including reviewing stories of therapeutic conversations, transcripts and interviews
