Course Overview

Ummeed partners with community based organizations (CBO) working in the space of maternal and child health to implement the Ummeed ECDD program.

Ummeed’s ECDD program offers:

1. Training for community health workers (CHWs) and their supervisors
2. Mentorship and periodic support with supervisors for problem solving and creating a
system of supervision to facilitate project implementation
3. Facilitation and support for organization’s management to better integrate child
development initiatives and goals with their current initiatives and goals

Goals

Train community health workers to promote and monitor child development, and provide support to families of children identified with developmental delay

Train supervisors in project implementation with community health workers

Provide mentorship and continued engagement with stakeholders in the project to facilitate sustainability

Monitor impact of the program through qualitative and quantitative measures
