Course Overview

The program aims to provide parents and educators with the know how to teach children between the ages of 2 and 8 to read, write and spell. The program is structured, sequential and graded. It involves stories, songs and games- learning through fun is the guiding principle.

The topics covered include: receptive language, expressive language, print awareness/ letter names/ book conventions, phonological awareness, phonics, sight words, writing – patterns & letters, reading accuracy, comprehension, fluency, spelling, creative writing.

Detailed handouts with strategies to teach each topic are provided. Trainers teach through videos, using teaching aids, and playing games. Certificates will be awarded on completion of the program.

29th November from 10 AM – 3 PM – Develop oral language listening and speaking  Ages  2-6 years

30th November from 10 AM – 4 PM – Get ready to read letter names phonological awareness phonics and sight words  Ages 2-6 Years

6th December from 10 AM – 2 PM – Develop reading skills comprehension and fluency  Ages 5-8 years

7th December from 10 AM – 1 PM – Learning spelling strategies  Ages 5-8 Years

7th December from  2 PM – 5 PM – Improve written expression Ages 6-9 Years

Goals

Train parents/teachers to help their children/students acquire fundamental literacy skills in a systematic and structured manner
Train participants to use the child’s interest in games, stories and daily life activities as an effective way to teach literacy skills
